What slicing program do you recomend - art3d - 01-08-2014

Just wanted to ask you all what programs do you use for 3d printing related task's?

I use repetier for slicing. Netfab for fixing models and lots of other useful things.
I use Cadkey/Keycreator to make models or things with. I can't recommend it enough.

So what do you use and does it work well or not well?

Netfab is awesome by the way. So is repetier.

Reprap magazine has a comparison of slicing software here: http://reprapmagazine.com/issues/1/. Slic3r, at the very least, runs on Linux.

At least two of the popular open-source printer control packages will run on linux - Repetier Host and pronterface. Slic3r comes packaged with both of these, so there's your tool chain right there.
