3D Printer Modification - talhabz - 11-23-2013

Hi,

I am a materials research student and currently working on project which involves modification of a DIY 3D printer for printing of Non Newtonian Fluids (Ketchup, toothpaste, paint etc). As I am completely new to 3D printing I was wondering if I can get any help on this forum with regards to what sort of modifications should I be looking at. One of the obvious one is off course the filament feeder; for replacement of which I am thinking I should use a fluid reservoir and a pump to feed the the printing material to the extruder. Another replacement is probably the extruder.

Please advice me if this is workable and if there is a DIY model more suited to modifications than others. Any sort of help, suggestions and advice will be very much appreciated.

Thanks Smile
